Sulom, TNM introduce Mpira M’manja

The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) and Telecommunications Networks Malawi (TNM) have jointly agreed to introduced Mpira M’manja development which will enable people to watch the Super League using their phones.
Super League of Malawi incumbent President, Tiya Somba Banda (TSB) made the announcement on Wednesday evening in Blantyre during the award presentation ceremony of the 2022 TNM Super League best performers.
Somba Banda said football lovers in the country will be able to watch highly-profile matches using their phone on TNM App which will manage to show four games at once.
He said that the Super League of Malawi has embarked on this just to modernise the elite football and he also said that the Clubs will be able to pocket money through the project.
“From 2023 Football Season, Clubs, for the very first time, will be able to get money from games that are beamed over the phones. For the past years, games have been beamed on one Facebook page or the other, but that’s a thing of the past.
“From 2023 [Football] season, as long as you have a tnm app on your [Smart] phone, you will be able to stream and watch on the GO Mpira M’manja. Not just one game on a matchday but four games on a match day,” said Somba Banda.
He added that people will use Mpamba debt card to pay for the games in 2023 Football Season.
He said: “[Starting] from next season, no cash will be accepted at the gate. If you come with cash, you will simply buy the card which will be available at kiosks, then load your cash in the card and pay at the gate issuing the PoS.
“Spectators will just need to load their money into Mpamba wallet and have a Mpamba card which will be swiped into a PoS (Point of Sale) machine at the gate. No need to produce cash
“We have done research around the world and two weeks ago we travelled to Tanzania to see how they are implementing this system. We managed to watch four games and sat down with system providers to appreciate how everything works. We are certain that it will work as well here,” he said.
