Dedza’s performance impresses Sponsors
Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar Football Club’s performance in their maiden season in the TNM Super League has impressed their sponsors, Salima Sugar Company.
Dedza Dynamos who got promoted to the Elite league after winning the 2021 Central Region Chipiku Premier League were one of the most improved teams in the 2022 TNM Super League.
The Dedza based Club managed to finish 9th including qualifying for Airtel Top-8 Cup season five and reaching the quarterfinals of the FDH Bank Cup.
The performance impresses the sponsors and they have decided to renew their sponsorship which sees them coughing K47 Million kwacha to the team.
“Salima Sugar Company Malawi and Dedza Dynamos Football Club have renewed their sponsorship agreement for a further year until March, 2024,” reads the announcement by the Club on Thursday.
The official signing ceremony took place on Wednesday in Lilongwe at the Company’s offices as the two parties met for the review meeting.
Salima Sugar Company Secretary, Dr Charles Thupi says the team have performed beyond expectations in their debut season.
He said, “They have done beyond our expectations and as a company, we had no any other choice but to continue working with them. We are very impressed with the performance of the team and what they have done outside the filed of play [in marketing the brand name of the company].”
Meanwhile, the company has challenged Dedza Dynamos to do even better this season as they surprises have been promised to the team based on the performance.
Making his remarks, Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar Football Club General Secretary, Mabvuto Mugode said as a team, they are over the moon with the development.
“We are more than happy with the sponsorship. We will engage the technical panel and the players before the season kicks off on how we can beat the targets. We aim at finishing among the top four teams in the league in the forthcoming season, ” said Mugode.
According the information from the Club, Salima Sugar Company has given the Club an opportunity to be a distributor for the company so as to make extra money from the profits gained through selling.
Salima Sugar Company started pumping in their money into Dedza Dynamos last year after dumping Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
