ACB to arrest Kayuni, Malunda on fraud


The Anti-Corruption Bureau is expected to arrest former Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and a Senior State Advocate, Dzikondianthu Malunda as the two are being charged with fraud.

The Corruption graft-busting has announced that it has warrants of the arrests of the two public figures.

Steve Kayuni who was fired by the State President as the DPP and Dzikondianthu are being reasonably suspected of having committed an offence of misuse of public office which is contrary to 25B (1) and (4) of the Corrupt Practices Act.

The particular of offence of count number one of Dzikondianthu Josephy Malunda reads: “Dzikondianthu Joseph Malunda while serving as a public officer being Senior Assistant Chief State Advocate between on or about the 11th of June, 2021 while in transit in Kenya, abused his office by arbitrary directing Sky links travel to change his destination on an Air Ticket from being Vienna, Austria to Johannesburg, South Africa costing the Government of Malawi sum of Mk1,984, 038 for his personal benefits or in alternative. “

The second offence that the two are being suspected of is of fraud and breach of trust by public officer which is contrary to Section 120 of the Penal Code.
