A 19 year old Karonga based up and coming female Trap Afro artist Slek Slik who also sing for Karonga Cypher has on Saturday secured a manager following a beautiful stage performance.
Slek Slik real name Lissah Figueredoh was identified during 2022 Mzuzu Music Awards where Karonga Cypher won 2022 best Northern Region Cyphers outstanding Mzuzu Cypher and Mzimba Cypher.
The female Trap Afro said she did not think that one day she will be recognized by some notable people in the country.
Speaking in an interview on Tuesday Slek Slik said she was doing music for fun from 2019 in secondary school until she was caught in the eyes of Karonga Cypher grouping.
“I only had producer in 21 but haven’t done much in as far as music is concerned. Sometimes when you are a musician as well as a producer things do not work because you do things on your pace but when you have a manager things work well,” Slik said.

Slek Slik further said it is a privilege to be recognized among many musicians who attended the award presentation at Grand Palace in Mzuzu.
“Being identified on such occasion by a person who already made his name is something good. He could have picked someone in my expense but he saw something in me. I know he will support me to be a better musician not only in Malawi,” she explained.
DJ Simba who is now the manager for Slek Slik said she saw hidden talent in Slik that needs to be natured.
“I was moved with her stage performance during 2022 Mzuzu Awards which took place at Grand Palace. I asked if she has a manager but I was told that she does not have. I then told her that I will be managing her,” Simba said.
He said he is currently managing three musicians who are all based in Mzuzu.
“The talent of this young girl needs to be natured at an early stage even though the resources will not be enough but I will push to make her a big musician,” he added.
2022 Mzuzu Music Award was organized by people from Mzuzu but aimed to accolade artists from Northern Region graced by Jai Banda. However there were live performances at Queen’s Club after the awards spiced by Saint Realest, Macelba Marley and Wakisa James among others.
