Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Head Coach Mark Simon Harrison says his boys are eager to end their four-year wait for trophy tomorrow as they face their cross-town rivals, Nyasa Big Bullets.

The 45,200-capacity Stadium, Bingu National will call for attention as the two most successful clubs will be facing off in the final game of the Airtel Top-8 Cup season five.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers are yet to win this trophy but they had chance to lift in 2017 when they reached the final stage only to lose to Silver Strikers while the people’s have won it once after beating Silver Strikers last year on 18th December.

In the post-match interviews on Timven Radio Harrison who replaced Alex Ngwira as the Head Coach said the boys are eager to win the trophy as the team last won a silverware in 2018 after beating Silver Strikers in the Fisd Challenge Cup.

“The boys are eager to win the trophy this season, ” said Harrison. “But there’s no guarantee as there’s another team who want to win as well at the same time. We just need to get up and do our best and see if we can collect the result we want.”.

However, facing a team that have been dominating the local football for the recent four years, Harrison knows that it won’t be an easy game despite having in good spirits in their recent games.

“I know it will not be any easy game game sure. We will go in the field of pay with a purpose, that’s winning the Cup if we can. The boys are excited for it, looking at where we are coming from,” added Harrison.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers rambled over Mafco FC by emerging as 4-0 winners before silencing loquacious Area-30 based Cops by beating them 2-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in the semifinal match while Nyasa Big Bullets bagged 11 goals in three games as they beat Karonga United 8-1 on aggregate and Silver Strikers 3-1 in the semifinal stage.

Mark says he is eager to become the third team in Malawi [after Mafco and Karonga United] to contain the free-scoring Nyasa Big Bullets and win the game with a cleansheet after keeping three cleansheets in this tournament.

“We need to keep clean sheets at the same time we need to create some chances and score goals and for sure we will create chances and score goals,” Harrison was quoted.
