Botomani’s strike against Sable is enough for Wanderers to secure position 4

Misheck Botomani’s second-half strike was enough for Mighty Mukuru Wanderers to beat Sable Farming and seal the position four in the tnm Super League.
𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐃?
From disappointing outings in their last three league games, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers went into the game against the relegated Sable Farming hoping for a three points to have their place secured on number 4.
A Club rocked by internal wrangles, fired head coach, Alex Ngwira some hours before the kick-off and Albert Mpinganjira who was the assistant coach to Ngwira was at the helm- Mark Simon Harrison, the technical director who was announced to have replaced the fired coach was watching from the stands.
The forgotten man, Alfred Manyozo who had limited playing minutes under Ngwira played 90 minutes of the game that took Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 50 minutes to break the deadlock.
In their hunt for the objective, Nyangulu failed ro connect home Felix Zulu’s lovely ball but the hosts respond with an attack that saw them being awarded a free-kick just outside the penalty area. Simeon Singa took it but it ended in the palms of William Thole who had replaced Piliran Mapira in goals.
With Vitumbiko Kumwenda blossoming the midfield, his creativity gave the visitors an extra room for Wanderers to open the defence for the hosts easily.
Wanderers fans appealed for a penalty after Vincent Nyangulu was pulled down in the penalty area. Vincent Nyangulu played Nyangulu throw and George Nyirenda has a contact with Nyangulu and the striker went down but the referee paid no attention to the call.
5 minutes after the recess, Wanderers took the lead through Misheck Botomani who connected home Vitumbiko Kumwenda’s well-taken free-kick.
Mpinganjira replaced Nyangulu with Muhhamad Sulumba in the 58th minute before introducing Isaac Kaliati and Robin Ngalande for Joseph Balakasi and Chiukepo Msowoya in the 67th minute.
Macdonald Mtetemera made a triple changes as Humphreys Chimwaza, Antony Madeya and Sunganani Geoffrey were thrown in for Precious Chipungu,Emmanuel Lino and Simeon Singa four minutes later.
Geoffrey invited William Thole into a save after firing a hammer shot from the edge of the box before.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have collected 53 points from 29 games and they are 2 points above Silver Strikers who finished their season last week with 51 points.
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have completed a double over the relegated Sable Farming as they beat them 3-1 in the first round.
Sable Farming have wrapped up their season with 24 points. They have managed to score 17 goals and conceding 40.

The hosts will now shift their attention to preparations of the 2023 Southern Region Football League after being relegated from the Super League while Wanderers travel to Balaka to face Red Lions [on Saturday] who played a goalless draw against Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium.
