Moyale Barracks has once again defended the Raiply national volleyball tournament trophy for the 7th time as they grant Lilongwe side Kamuzu Barracks a 3 sets to 2 loss at Katoto on Sunday afternoon.
Moyale who at first were trailing with 2 sets to 1 kept up the pressure and manage to secure the win at the end.

Speaking after the familiar feeling of victory General secretary Renford Phunga for Moyale said they never expected the game to be so tough but since it’s a tradition for them to win this tournament, a win they secured.

For the losing side’s General secretary Alvin Sambo the defeat was a really painful one seeing as they were leading with a couple of points but ended up losing either way, but despite this being the painful loss by far all their focus is on the way forward, says Sambo.

For the ladies side, Wolves still believes they are more deserving of the trophy after beating Vixens 3-1 in the finals, Kamuzu Barracks ladies secures 3rd place after beating UVC 3 sets to nil. Same fate for Mipunilo in the men’s category after beating Lilongwe spikers 3 sets to 2.
