KUHeS’s RDC receives financial boost from First Capital Bank
Barely days after the Kamuzu University of Health Science formerly College of Medicine and Kamuzu College of Nursing received the support of K2 Million from the United General Insurance to facilitate the conference, the University has also received K5 Million from the First Capital Bank towards the program.
The University announced officially the forthcoming Research Dissemination Conference which will be held from 24th to 25th November on October 6 in Blantyre at KUHeS Blantyre Campus.
As the days are flying out towards the date for this year’s conference which is held under the theme “Excellence for life: through multidisciplinary research and innovations”, the University has now received a collective donation of K7 million to facilitate the conference.
The Head of Marketing and Communication for First Capital Bank, Twikale Chirwa said they have made the decision to pump the money after realising the importance of a health nation in Economic development.
“Health research players a vital role towards achieving the Health nation in economic development. Kamuzu University of Health Sciences is home to First Capital Bank as our relationship dates back to 20 years ago,” said Chirwa.
Meanwhile, the Co-Chairperson of KUHeS Research Dissemination Conference organising committee has thanked the Bank for the financial support.
He said, “The support that we have received from the First Capital Bank shows how much faith they have in us for the past years as we embark on this project. Through this conference, participants will discuss and reflect on improving quality of health through multidisciplinary research and innovations in Malawi.”
This year’s Conference which is expected to be graced by Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Agnes Nyalonje, while Professor Louise Kenny, Executive Pro Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool will be the keynote speaker is expected to attract more 500 local and international delegates.
