KB praise not to fear Eagles
Kamuzu Baracks Assistant coach, Blessings Kawanga said his team have total respect towards their opponents, Blue Eagles bit they are not afraid of them.
He made the statement during the pre-match interviews with the Club’s Media Team saying they are looking to amass the maximum points over their rivals today at Champions Stadium.
WHAT HAPPENED? Kamuzu Barracks are coming from a goalless draw against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers while Blue Eagles managed to get a point over Nyasa Big Bullets in Blantyre last week.
The two teams are fighting for the second place as the league is getting harder and harder ad every team now is more than eager to amass the maximum points.
Kamuzu Baracks have been one of the outstanding team in the second round, a run that they made in 2016 when they came off number 8 in the first round to win the league at the end of the season.
The Chiwoko Boys have played 11 games in the second round but they are yet to taste a defeat having won 7 of those 11 and sharing points in 4 occasions.
Since their 1-0 defeat against Nyasa Big Bullets on June 26, The Soldiers have only lost one game, [Against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers] in the FDH Bank Cup in their 15 games that they played within that time-frame.
A win Over Blue Eagles will see them displaying the Cops on the second place with 51 points from 26 games.
On the other hand, Blue Eagles have lost only once [Against Ekwendeni Hammers] in their last 8 games, and they are on number 2 with 50 points from 24 games. A win will see them collecting 53 points from 25 games.
The two teams played a goalless draw in the first round at Nankhaka ground and in their last 27 games, KB have a record of 11 wins while Eagles won 7 Times with 9 games ending in stalemate.
Their last 4 outings have been ending in goalless stalemate and KB were the last winners of the fixture in the league on May 11, 2019 beating the Cops by two goals to nill, thanks to Marshall Malua’s brace.
WHAT WAS SAID? Reacting to the game, Kawanga said he expects a tough game but as KB, they are ready for the game.
“We as KB, we are going there flat-out, ready for the fight against Eagles. Its going to be a very good game considering that we all need the second position but its going to be a very good and entertaining match. We played them a goalless draw in the first round, this time we have rectified the mistakes that we made against Wanderers, so we looked at the mistakes that we made, we did not score, we rectified on it and we are hopeful for a change in the game [Against Eagles.]
“We are looking forward to finish the league in top three, so it’s a very important game for us to win. We respect them but we are not afraid of them,” said Kawanga.
He added that all the players are available for the game and everyone is ready for the game.
On his part, Blue Eagles Assistant coach, Christopher Sibale said the game is very important for them as they want to maintain their position.
“They are behind us, so want to maintain our position, so we really want to work hard so that at the end of the day we should collect three points,” said Sibale.
He added that Schumacker Kuwali is going to miss the game but he is hopeful that the available players will give them what they want.
