Rumphi United Head Coach, Jimmy Butao said his players lost focus hence leading to such heaviest defeat to Mighty Mukuru Wanderers on Wednesday afternoon.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Leopards of Chikulamayembe travelled to the Commercial City just to fulfill the fixture as their departure to the second-tie league was confirmed on Friday last week after a 2-0 defeat to Blue Eagles at their home.

The journey of three games away consecutively started with a heaviest 10-0 defeat at Kamuzu Stadium as Muhammad Sulumba continued his brilliance against them, netting a second-half hat-trick taking his tally to five in two games after scoring a brace in the first round.

Yamikani Chester who was the in-stand skipper in absence of Stanley Sanudi, and Vincent Nyangulu scored two goals each while Aubrey Maloya, Isaac Kaliati and Mathews Masamba completed the routing victory

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

This means that Rumphi United are slumped to the bottom of the table with just 10 points from 27 games and they are already out.

Since their 2-0 win over Sable Farming on May 8 thus year, Rumphi United have played 20 games without a win, collecting only a point against Ekwendeni Hammers.

Rumphi are the team to have the most porous defence, allowing 67 goals going past their goalkeeper and they the team that have players who are very goal-shy, scoring only 14 in 27 games and Trouble Kajani netted seven of those.

WHAT WAS SAID?

After such heaviest defeat, Coach Butao said the players have lost focus.

“Today’s game has proved that we are out. The biggest problem is that our players lost focus and that’s why we have lost the game. We hold them for almost 20 minutes. We just need to win our last games but it will have no effect of course. We also lacked preparations on what should we have for our players to be happy,” said Butao.

The Coach added that as a team, they will not stand on the way of any player who has caught the eyes of the Super League team Coaches .

“As of now we can’t say that we can manage to keep our players as you know that Rumphi United is a Club that has no sponsorship. We will not stand on the way of any player who is wanted by a Super League Club. We will take the rest of players to Simama Northen Region Football League,” added Butao.

WHAT NEXT FOR RUMPHI?
