Moyale Condemn Rumphi to Relegation

Rumphi United have been relegated from the TNM Super League after they were walloped by Moyale Barracks 3-1 on Saturday Mzuzu stadium on Saturday.
The team has now gone 21 games without registering a win, with just a meagre 10 points and do not have a chance to survive even if they can win the all their remaining games.
Gasten Simkonda opened the scores with a powerful left shot after receiving a good cross from Brown Magaga on 14 minutes of the first half before Raphael Phiri added to the lead in the 30th minute.
In the second half the dying Leopards of Chikulamayembe who played without a reserve player pulled one back three minutes in the second half through Zikani Mponda who was also voted as Man of the match.
The goal gave strength to Rumphi who started piling missiles but Moyale’s goal stopper McDonald Harawa denied and saved many dangerous balls.
As the game went to on Raphael Phiri beat the offside trap double his score the killer goal.
After the game, Prichard Mwansa Moyale Barracks Coach said the it was a very important thing is to have three points.
“It was a good game though we struggled in the second half our boys lost the rhythm of the game but still more we beat them and collect three points, ” he said.
Meanwhile Jimmy Butao coach for Rumphi united blamed the officiating team for bad officiation.
“We played well but officiation of today was not good especially to us, we still have games and we are not yet relegated until the last game,” said Butao.
Moyale are still on position 7, from 23 games played with 36 points, while Rumphi have played 25 games with 10 points and are anchoring the bottom table of the Tnm superleague table.
