Silver Strikers, the Central Bankers are hoping for an improved performance in their forthcoming games after making some changes in their technical panel steups.

The Area 47-based side have been struggling for consistency this season, a development that led to the sacking of Zambian Coach, Daniel Kabwe.

However, since the departure of the Coach who guided them to the inaugural 2021 FDH Bank Cup, the team failed to deliver tangible results which saw them booted out of the FDH Bank Cup after succumbing to a defeat to Rockies, Dedza Dynamos.

Silver Strikers are currently on number five with 38 points from 23 games.

This has forced the board to make some changes in the technical team as Macdonald Yobe who has been the assistant coach for the team has been demoted to Reserve side where he will be the Head coach assisted by Davie Moya and Rodrick Gonani while Lyton Mangani will be the goalkeeper trainer.

The Club has confirmed the appointment of the former Ekwendeni Hammers Coach, Etson-Kadenge Mwafulirwa to replace Yobe and he will work in company of Peter Mgangira who is a second assistant coach, Victor Mphande goalkeeper trainer and Young Chimodzi Jr is the team manager.

The panel will be headed by Peter Mpulura.

Sibusiso Padambo who was the goalkeeper trainer at the Senior Team has been demoted to the Under 20 where he will serve the same role while Green Harawa will head the panel with Jack Chiona as his assistant coach.

Confirming the development was the Board Secretary Peter Masiye saying the etiology of the changes is poor performance of the team.

“There is nothing apart from poor performance of the team. We have been performing poorly this season. The board, and supporters are not happy with it. Hopefully, we expect the change from the team as you know that we are having Airtel Top 8 Cup ahead and we need to prepare well for it,” said Masiye.

The newly appointed technical panel for the senior team will start their tenure with a tricky fixture at home, Bingu National Stadium as they face the highly flying Blue Eagles.
