NRFA Conducts draw for two cups
The Northern Region Football Association on Tuesday conducted a draw for Nyasa Capital Finance Cup in the northern region.
Division one teams will play against Premier division teams in clusters and the winners will join 8 Premier seeded teams in last 16.
Northern Region Football Association (NRAFA) General Secretary, Masiya Nyasulu says they expect good officiation and stiff competition.
“We have improved on officiation because teams complained so this year the refs will be traveling and we expect upsets,” Nyasulu said.
Karonga United Reserve representative Ramsy Simwaka says the draw was fair and will help in players development.
“This cup will help in players development as division one teams have been paired with Premier division teams.” Simwaka said.
Meanwhile Chintheche and Lufita will not take part in this year’s cup after they failed to pay affiliation fee.
The Association also conducted a draw for Unayo Division one, the teams will play in two clusters, teams from Likoma, Nkhatabay, Mzimba, Mzuzu will play in Cluster A, teams from Rumphi, Ekwendeni,Karonga and Chitipa will play in Cluster B.
