Innobuild Awards Cartoonist With Scholarship
A 26-year-old Reagan Mwalwanda who is a cartoonist and sign writer based in Lilongwe has been given a scholarship from Innobuild Company Limited to continue with vocational skills training.
Mwalwanda has been given an option to chose a programme of his choice, at either Sanwecka or Don Bosco technical College in Lilongwe after drawing a beautiful cartoon for the company.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Billy Jonathan Chiwotha said the company wanted to motivate the Lilongwe-based boy as they were very impressed with his work.
“He drew a wonderful cartoon for the company and we were very impressed with his work. We thought it that by offering him the scholarship, he can improve his vocational skills and it can add value to what he does.
“Innobuild plays social responsibilities and this one of them. We are always inspired to see young people making strides in their careers,” said Chiwotha.
He added that Innobuild exist because of the support from the Malawians and they are obliged to support the youth in economics as part of token of appreciation.
On his part, the Cartoonist, Mwalwanda commended Innobuild Limited for the gesture saying the support has come at a time when he was in need of it.
“I have always wanted to go further with my studies in relation to to what I already do but financial challenges have always been a setback and the coming in of Innobuild is a sigh of relief,” said Mwalwanda.
Innobuild is the leading plots seller in the country and have offices in all regions, Mzuzu, Salima, Lilongwe, Mangochi and Blantyre.
