Mchinji hospital needs K23 million for physiotherapy gym machine
Over 23 million kwacha is what Mchinji District Hospital needs to purchase physiotherapy gym equipment for at least 5,000 people currently in need of physiotherapy services.
Head of the Physiotherapy Department at the facility, Temweka Chingaipe, disclosed this on Friday after receiving a donation of physiotherapy equipment worth 1.2 million kwacha from Still I Rise, Tingathe Organization.
Chingaipe said the donation, which include a tread mill and parallel bars, will cater for over 30 people out the 5,000 population in need of physiotherapy sessions.
To his part, Still I Rise, Tingathe Organization founder, Andida Mando said they raised the funds for the donation from weekly aerobic exercises their organization has been conducting in the district.
Meanwhile, Raymond Khonya, Mchinji District Administration officer has pledged the council’s support in lobbying for funds for the physiotherapy equipment at the hospital.
The hospital physiotherapy gym started in 2018.
