ADMARC Employees Sent On Forced paid Leave
The Government of Malawi has suspended all services of the state grain marketer, ADMARC , with immediate effect and staff has been told not to report for duties unless instructed as such.
Addressing the media on Wednesday Minister of Agriculture, Lobin Lowe says with immediate effect all members the Staff of Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc) go on leave.
In his address the minister has also suspended all Admarc services except for the social services aiming at reviving operations in ensuring that the institution begins to tick.
“Among others, deep rooted corruption and abuse of the parastatal resources are some of the factors affecting operations of ADMARC hence this decisionth
The Minister also stated that only staff working in strategic ADMARC selling points will continue selling maize to ensure people are not negatively affected,” Lowe said.
The other pronouncement that Lowe has made are that they are redefining Admarc:-
He has cautioned that no Admarc employee is expected to report for duties unless communicated otherwise.
The pronouncements do not affect the sale of maize in hunger stricken districts.
However, Lowe further stated that all the Admarc staff will be while on forced paid leave.
