25-year-old man commits suicide in Mzimba

A 25-year-old man has committed suicide by hanging himself in his bedroom in Mzarangwe in Mzimba.

He has been identified as Fred Soko from Kachelera Soko Village in Traditional Authority Chindi in Mzimba District.

It is reported that Soko realized K250,000.00 after selling his soya beans after harvest. On Friday August 26, 2022, the bother took the whole amount and used it for transport to South Africa.

This did not please Soko who later went to his house at around 1800 hours and lock up himself. He was discovered the following morning hanging dead to the roof the house.

Postmortem conducted by Mzimba medical personnel revealed that death was due to suffocation secondary to hanging.

Police in the district continue advising members of the general public to sought better solutions to relevant authorities to avoid such incidents.
