Choice Construction Limited on Wednesday bailed out Central Region Sports Reporters, a team of Sports journalists by donating them with jerseys.
Speaking during the official handover of the jerseys at Bingu National Stadium, one of the company’s administrators, Esther Lazaro said after realizing that the journalists need jerseys, they could not flinch but to bail them out saying it’s one of their social responsibilities.
“We discovered that the journalists need jerseys. We watched them a certain game where they put on a borrowed jersey, so we thought it was wise to come up with this support.
“This is our social responsibility, we return to the community the little we have,” Lazaro.
She added that the company used over K300, 000 to buy the jerseys.
Central Region Sports Reporters Coach and player, Bright Buju Kanyama commended the company for the gesture saying the support has come at a time when the team needs it.
“We are very happy with the help from Choice Construction. We started last year but up now we had no jerseys. We used to borrow from various teams when we have games. This is a motivation to us and we are sure that we are going to start producing desired results,” said Kanyama.
Kanyama has also requested support from other well-wishers to bail out the team with boots and the issues of transport.
Central Region Sports Reporters formed teams in Football and Netball to ensure unity, and togetherness thereby improving their professionalism.
