Nyasa Big Bullets two months ago suspended their accountant Jeremiah Mwagomba for allegedly attempting to defraud gate revenue amounting to K750,000 during the People’s Team’s TNM Super League match against Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium.
Nyasa Big Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Suzgo Nyirenda said Bullets stand by the values of integrity and professionalism; as such, they indiscriminately do not condone any acts or schemes to defraud the club in any way by any official or any member of the club.
Later on, the club announced that they had officially sacked the suspended Mwagomba after investigations on the matter.
Suzgo Nyirenda said Mwagomba was summoned for a disciplinary hearing where he allegedly pleaded guilty.
“We followed all the required procedures in line with our Human Resources Manual as well as the Labour Act. We investigated the matter and Mr Mwagomba admitted wrongdoing.
“Consequently, a summary dismissal was effected and we have started the process of hunting for a new accountant. We are doing all this in line with Club Licencing requirements,” Nyirenda said.
