Malawi President goofed, embarrassed by his speech writers

The visibly embarrassed Lazarus Chakwera was forced to apologize to the public on behalf of his speech writers who had addressed deputy minister of defense Harry Mkandawire as an ‘MP’ during the preambles.

Chakwera had to say “sorry, sometimes they just write these speeches and give us, please verify and verify and recheck don’t just give me anything here”.

Chakwera went back to take the preamble whilst omitting the word ‘MP’.

Chakwera concern is coming just days after Secretary to president and cabinet Colleen Mzimba expressed same concerns in her memo to govt officials and heads of departments over what she called ‘substandard and grammatically wrong reports’.
