Tigers’ fans call for firing of Kajawa over poor performance
Mighty Waka Waka Tigers have gone 90 days, 10 games without a win in all competetions, a development that has dragged the Club’s fans to call for the resignation of Trevor Kajawa as the Head Coach for the Club.
The Kau-Kau Boys were beaten 2-0 by the rookies, Sable Farming on Saturday afternoon at Mpira Stadium to stab on the fans’ wounds.
After a 2-1 defeat to Dedza Dynamos, Sable Farming were in desperate need of points and they displayed a classic performance to complete a double over Tigers and move out of the relegation zone.
Semion Singa registered his name on the scoresheet in the first half before Humphreys Chimwaza sealed the victory for the Chiradzulu-based farmers in the second half.
Sable have moved up to 13th place with 14 points from 17 games.
Mighty Tigers last sniffed three points back on May 8 when they defeated TN Stars at Kasungu Stadium by a goal to nill.
After an impressive start this season, Tigers are now winless in their last 10 games and the angry supporters were chanting “achoke achoke” in the house and later they gathered outside the main dressing room’s exit door where they were pleaded with Team’s Technical Director, Robin Alufandika to sack Kajawa.
The underfire, Mighty Waka Waka Tigers Coach, Trevor Kajawa described the defeat as painful.
“A painful defeat, we had chances and we failed to utilise them. They beat us in the first round and we hoped to collect maximum points over them but things have not gone as planned. This our third game this second round, like I said, we had chances but we fired blank.
His counterpart Mcdonald Mtetemera said he also happy with the victory.
“Am very happy with the victory. My boys have done what we were planning at training. Players are playing well, only that we have been lacking firepower in our games and today, am happy that we have scored and we have kept the cleansheet.
Blue Eagles, Karonga United, Nyasa Big Bullets, Mafco, Civo, Silver, Sable all defeated Tigers and they have only managed to collect a point from possible 27. They played a one all draw against Mighty Wanderers last week.
