The two Blantyre based struggling teams, Mighty Waka Waka Tigers and Sable Farming are this afternoon encountering each other at Mpira Stadium, Chiwembe as they are battling for points.

Both teams are not safe from relegation.

Tigers last collected maxim
um points 89 days ago as they defeated TN Stars at Kasungu Stadium by a goal to nill on May 7, 2022.

The Kanjedza-based boys have gone 10 games without a win in all competitions managing only a draw against Mighty Wanderers last week.

The bellow-par performance also made the Kau-Kau Boys to face a chop in the FDH Bank Cup after a shock defeat to Southern Region Football League based team, Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve in the round of 32 of the tournament.

Coach for Tigers Trevor Kajawa said the point that they got against Wanderers could give them another ridge and start collecting points as the 2022 season is maturing.

“The point that we got against Wanderers was extremely important. It may be our turning point, ” said Trevor Kajawa.

Meanwhile, his counterpart, Macdonald Nginde Mtetemera whose team sit 15th on the 16-member Log table with 11 points from 16 games said he is confident that his boys have all what it takes to claim maximum points over Tigers.

The Chiradzulu-based farmers collected maximum points over Tigers when they met in the first round of the TNM Super League as they claimed a 2-0 victory.

Mtetemera said he has rectified all the mistakes and he boys are looking very angry for the points.

He said, “The boys look very much hungry for the points, Sable need points at all coast, we need to approach this game positively to play well and win the game.”

Sable Farming are coming from 2-1 defeat to their fellow debutants, Dedza Dynamos and Mtetemera said he missed his key players in that game and today it’s a different story as all of his Arsenals are ready for the war.

“We dropped maximum points in our previous league game against Dedza because we missed some of our key players as there were nursing injuries. This is not the case with this week’s game, we have full squad and everybody is up for selection.

“The way the’ve been working on the pitch I believe that we will have a very good game. I have worked on the striking force so that they should start scoring goals and of course a bit of defenders to defend as well. I believe with the coming in of injured players the team will do well,” said Mtetemera.

Elsewhere, the Log table anchors, Rumphi United from a 3-1 humiliation to Nyasa Big Bullets at home, they are travelling to Karonga where they are playing Karonga United.

Rumphi United’s last victory dated back to 88 days ago as they beat Sable Farming, 2-0 and they are 9 games without a win while Karonga United who sit 11th with 20 points are coming from a shock defeat in FDH to Changalume Barracks.
