Silver Strikers asks for Patience from Supporters

Silver Strikers Football Club has asked for patience from its supporters as they are trying to fix all the problems at the club in their quest to restore happiness.

Chairperson of Silver Strikers Board, Dr George Kaudza Masina who is heading the 9-member board said the club officials are doing all what they can to bring back the glory at area 47.

Masina said the Club officials are expected to meet this week to discuss ways to follow as they are trying to bring happiness to the bankers and review Dan Kabwe’s report.

He said”Our performance has not been good as Silver Strikers. We haven’t started well our second round. This is painful, we understand but we beg our fans to stay calm as we are trying to being happiness among them.

” We are moving in a bad situation but we are hopeful that things will change as we go by.”

Silver Strikers who have been struggling for consistency this season, suspended their Zimbabwean Head Coach, Dan Kabwe for the poor performance of the team.

Masina said with the poor performance of the team, no one is supposed to be blamed.

“We cannot point fingers at a certain group of people for poor performance. We just need time and patience, we will come back after our investigations,” said Masina.

Silver Strikers were booted out from the FDH Bank Cup by Dedza Dynamos and they also started the second round will a big blow as they were beaten 3-1 at home, Silver Stadium by Mafco FC. This performance has evoked some supporters to start considering engaging the Club officials to explain to them the reasons behind the poor performance of the team.

Silver Strikers Football Club supporters general secretary, Henry Madzi Mayera has confirmed that the supporters are tired of Club’s poor performance and they are planning to face the officials of the team to explain the reasons behind the struggle of the team.

“We need to hold discussions with supporters, board and Secretariat to see what is happening. Everyone is worried about the performance of the team,” said Madzi Mayera.

He further urged the players of the team to open up their mouths if anything goes wrong a the Club.

“It seems like our players are hiding something. W need them to speak if there is something wrong,” added Mayera.

Silver Strikers finished as runners up last season in Super league and won the inaugural FDH Bank Cup after beating Ekwendeni Hammers.

However, the performance this season has not been the same. After suspending Kabwe, their Reserve Coach, Leo Mpulura is the interim coach of the team.

Silver sit fifth on the 16-member Log table with 26 points from 16 games and the title chance looks to have slipped away from their hands as they 16 points adrift the Leaders, Nyasa Big Bullets who occupy the top spot with 42 points.

Silver have only FDH Bank available to wash away all their sins this season.
