310 died others injured in rain-related incidents in Pakistan
About 310 people have died and 295 others have been injured in various rain-related incidents in Pakistan since June 14 as heavy rains continue in the country, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said.
A total of 175 women and children are among the dead, the NDMA said in a situation report, adding that the rains had partially or completely damaged around 8,979 houses including 48 bridges and several shops across the country.
The vast portion of the damage and losses were reported from the southwestern province of Balochistan, where 100 people died and 57 others were injured as monsoon rains led to floods, followed by the southwestern Sindh province, am Bao has reported 70 deaths and 27 injured according to NDMA.
Around 64 people were killed in east Punjab province, 62 in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and 14 in other parts of the country, the NDMA said.
