Silver Strikers Football Club has appointed their reserve side coach Leo Mpulala as their interim coach in line with Football Association of Malawi directive that every team in the elite league should have CAF A license.

Silver Strikers FC Chief Executive Officer, Thokozani Chimbali has confirmed with Guardian that Mpulula has been trusted to lead the team’s technical panel.

The CEO said they have done this in response to the letter which FAM wrote to their current coach MacDonald Yobe, saying a CAF C license holder is not allowed to be on the Super League touchline.

Chimbali said Mpulula will be the interim from now until the final results of their suspended tactician Daniel Kabwe will be released.

The team’s board is scrutinizing the results of the investigation which surrounded him due to poor performance of the club.

Yobe was given the role to be in charge of the bankers after Kabwe was suspended on 30 May, 2022.

This means, Mpulula will start leading the club this weekend as they take on Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar FC at Dedza Stadium on Saturday in the Round of 32 of 2022 Pachema FDH Bank Cup.
