MANEB set for 2022 Primary, Secondary school Examinations

The Malawi National Examinations Board, MANEB says all the preparations for the 2022 examinations are on track.

The examinations board declared openly this on Tuesday in a statement signed by the board Executive Director Professor Dorothy Nampota.

In a statement, the board indicates that 152, 589 students will sit Malawi School Certificate of Education examination. Of the total figure, 80, 340 are male while 72, 249 are female.

In this year’s Juniro Certicate of Examinations, (JCE) 159,946 students are expected to sit for the examinations of which 79,589 are male while 80, 357 are female.

266, 639 students will sit for will sit for the Junior (PSLCE) Primary School Leaving Certificate Exams. 131,941 are male while 134,698 are female.

6,103 candidates will sit for the Primary Teacher Certificate Examinations and 2,520 are male while 3,583 are female.

Part of the statement reads, “Security will be provided by the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and the Malawi Police Service (MPS). Candidates and the general public are therefore advised to desist from any form of examination malpractice.”

The Board added that any individual found doing examination malpractice will be penalized using relevant MANEB regulations.

The Board further says Special Needs Education(SNE) candidate will be handled in accordance with guidance which MANEB developed in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

The statement adds, “MANEB will conduct briefing sessions for all examination administrators which include Primary Education Advisors, Teachers, and MPS and MDF officers, a few days before the start of examinations, in order to ensure professionalism and adherence to standards of examination administration.”

Unlike previously, this year the Examination Advisors will race their allowances before administration of examination.

Examination Advisors in Thyolo and Mwanza will receive their allowances directly in their personal accounts as MANEB is piloting e-payment for the advisors in the two districts.

The statement also indicates that the board will start administering the PSLCE exams on July 13 to 15th, this year.

JCE exams will start on August 2 to 11 this year wfromreas the MSCE examinations will start from August 30 to September 22 this year.

Primary Teachers Certificate Examination will start on 23rd August to 26th August.
