Civo, Wanderers face off in Super League

Civo Service United will face Mighty Wanderers Football Club today on Wednesday in TNM Super League as they (Civo) are battling for the top 8 spot.

Civo sit 9th on the table with 16 points from 13 games while Mighty Mukuru Wanderers are on position 3 with 24 points from 13 games.

Mighty Wanderers are coming from a 1-all gridlock against Mafco on Saturday while Civo are coming from a 2-all yank against TN Stars.

The Lali Luban based side will be enthusiastic to ladle three points as they are eyeeing to compete with the league leaders, Nyasa Big Bullets who top the League with 38 points.

Assistant coach for Mighty Wanderers, Joseph Kamwendo foresees a tough game but regurgitated that they need points.

Kamwendo said, “We are coming from disappointing results, two draws against Mafco and Red Lions. Though we had no ample time to rest, we are here to play and we need a win so that we move upward on the table. We know that it will not be easy.”

Kamwendo added that all the players are available for selection against the Servants.

His counterpart, Gabriel Chirwa Team manager for Civo says they are at home and they will do everything to get positive results.

He said, “Preparations have been going well, we hope that what we have been doing in training boys will execute as we are facing Wanderers. We are ready to face them.”

Chirwa added that Binwell Katinji, Patrick Phiri and Shasimbiwe Kanyika will miss the game due to injuries.

A win will take Wanderers to just 3 points behind the second placed Blue Eagles who have 30 points from 14 games.

As for Civo, the win will be very vital as they chasing the top 8 place for them to participate in the 2022 Airtel Top 8. They will go 7th on the table should they scoop maximum points.
