Nyasa Big Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Suzgo Nyirenda says the team is against the idea of Super League of Malawi taking over the match ticketing.

According to the Nations, Sulom are attempting to overtake match ticketing and gate management of all TNM Super League matches following the increase in cases of fraud and theft in the league this season.

“Well, it’s unfortunate that people entrusted to run the game are the ones taking advantage of the system. People and football had started embracing advanced ticketing, but now with these revelations Sulom will be in control of all ticket management with tight control procedures to mitigate any risk of pilferage,” quoted Sulom President Tiya Somba Banda when speaking to the nations.

Reacting to Sulom’s suggestions, Suzgo Nyirenda said Bullets are against the idea.

“As a Club, we are totally against the idea of Sulom. We have strong security protocols which are assisting to thwart fraud and theft,” said Nyirenda.

Nyirenda further added that Sulom’s idea will worsen the cases of fraud and theft in gates. He also advised Sulom to engage Clubs before making decisions.

“The problem is not pre-sale of tickets. It’s match day tickets sale that are a problem. So, if Sulom wants to take over and kill pre-sales then they should know that’s syndicates will smile.

” Sulom should engage the clubs before making decisions,” added the CEO.

Suzgo Nyirenda said as a club, they have already shown that they will not shield anyone found in connection with malpractice.

Nyasa Big Bullets earlier this week suspended their accountant Jeremiah Mwagombo on suspicion of attempting to force Glory Gate Management Firm to under declare the total revenue realised from the match between Tigers and Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
