Two late strikes from Charles Chipala and Limbani Phiri rendered a McDonald Nginde Mtetemera a painful first defeat as Sable Farming suffered a 2-1 to Dedza Dynamons on Wednesday afternoon in a Super League game that was played at Balaka Stadium.

After a disappointing weekend as they suffered a 2-0 to Mafco, Dedza Dynamos came from behind to record an epic-come back after Sable Farming stole the lead through Chifundo Ngapenga in the first minute of the game, to precise, just after 50 seconds from kick off.

Dan Dzimkambani was forced to make early permutations as goalkeeper Donnex Mwakasinga picked a nock in the 5th minute and was replaced by Leonard Manda. So too with Ibrahim Swadiq, was pulled out for Henry Misinjo.

Sable Farming were very organised in the first half and they managed to maintain their slender lead until break time.

The host came back stronger in the second half and staged a remarkable come-back as Charles Chipala equalised with less than a quarter-hour mark, Limbani Phiri netted the winning goal from the spot after Charles Chipala was brought down in the box.
Chipala has scored 5 goals this season.

Dan Dzimkambani heaped praise on to his boys for the spirited performance.

“They started better and we conceded a goal. We tried to fight back in the first half but they defended well. In the second half we made some changes and we found goals. The most important thing is that we have managed to collect maximum points, we are going forward,” said Dzimkambani.

On his part, McDonald Mtetemera head coach for Sable said it was a painful defeat but it’s part of the game.

He said, “It was a game that we would have avoided a defeat but it’s part of football. My boys especially defenders lost concentration towards the end of the game. We will go back to the drawing board and see where to correct.”

With the win, Dedza Dynamos

climb up the log to the 9th position with 15 points from 12 games. They will face Ekwendeni Hammers this weekend, then Red Lions and they will finish the first round with a game against Civil Service United.

As for Sable, this was his first defeat after taking over the coaching role from the suspended Joseph Malizan and the defeat comes in his fourth game.

The Chiradzulu-based farmers played a 2-all draw against Silver before beating Mighty Tigers FC. They played a 1-all draw against Kamuzu Barracks last weekend before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Dedza under McDonald Mtetemera.

They are in the relegation zone, on number 13 with 10 points from 12 games.

Malizani was tasked to take out Sable from the relegation zone by the end of first round and he has Karonga United, Mafco and Nyasa Big Bullets on his menu before finishing the first round of the TNM Super League.
