After a 2-week break due to international break, the Malawia’s elite League is back this weekend with a mouth-watering game as Sable Farming are welcoming Mighty Tigers at Mulanje Park Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Sable who stay slumped at the bottom of the 16-team Top-flight League’s table with 6 points from 9 games through their interm coach, Mcdonald Mtetemera in the post match interviews, said they are ready to face the 8th placed Tigers.

Mtetemera said the international break gave his team an opportunity to work on their shortfalls and he is hopeful that nothing will impede them from amassing maximum points over the Kau-Kau Boys.

“”It is always good to get off to a positive start,” said Mtetemera

“We use these international breaks as an opportunity to work on areas that we can still be better and continue to improve them.

Mtetemera cited avoid conceding cheap goals as one of the areas that he has been working on during the international break.

“The two week long break gave me an advantage to polish up some areas and I think I have benefited a lot.I have told my boys to have positive mind nothing else play the game to win and defend the goals.

“We conceded silly goals in our previous league match against Silver Strikers which could have been avoided, those are the mistakes that we have been polishing up so that we should play a clean and positive game and once we score that game is done and nobody should score in our goal.

Mtetemera added that his charges are fully aware of the importance of the game.

He said, “Each and every game coming through it should be a must win game at all coast what ever team comes in,we should put a positive that we should win the game.”

However, the former Silver Strikers mentor is aware that it will the win won’t come on a silver platters.

“It will be a great match,we have some similarities but we will play our lungs out to collect maximum points at the end of the game,” He added.

The Chiradzulu based farmers who are feeling the hotness of the Super League for the first time have only managed to record one victory this season over Red Lions but they are on six back-to-back unwinning streak. A win will take them to 9 points and they will move to 14th place.

Mtetemera was ropped in to replace the suspended Joseph Malizan due to poor results of the team and he was tasked to take out the team from relegation by the end of the first round.

Sable Farming have played one game under Mtetemera and it was against Silver Strikers that ended in 2-all stalemate.

The rookies have Kamuzu Barracks, Dedza Dynamons and Karonga United on their menu before wrapping up the first round with another intense game against Salima based Soldiers, Mafco on July 2, 2022.

Mighty Waka Waka Tigers who started the campaign on a positive note are winless in their last four games after losing to Civil Service United, Mafco, Karonga and Blue Eagles and they are zealous on getting maximum points as they fighting for Top 8 finish.

Tigers are 17 points behind the League Leaders, Nyasa Big Bullets who are topping the table with 32 points after playing 12 games.

A win will take the Kanjedza based boys to 5th on the table with 18 points.

They will face the reigning champions, Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium in their next assignment before winding up their first round with Silver Strikers the following week at Mpira Stadium.
