Kaira Bags Second trophy as AD Vlanculo win Provincial Cup

The duo of former Nyasa Big Bullets players, Chimango Kaira, Bright Bweke Munthali, and former Silver Strikers forward, Mathews Sibale have bagged the second trophy this season as they have helped their Mozambican side, Assoçiaçao Deportivo De Vlankulo to the 2022 Mozambique Provincial Cup trophy after edging out Ferroviario De Inhambane on Saturday afternoon at Muele Stadium in Inhambane.
Assoçiaçao Deportivo De Vlanculo who have not started the League (Moçambola Liga) on good note, had to wait for penalties to decide as the game ended in goalless stalemate in the regulation time.
Coach, Eurico Jacinto replaced Goalkeeper Germano with Pinto and the later saved Ferroviario De Inhambane’s fourth penalty to give his team a well-deserved trophy.
Chimango Kaira who has been out nursing injury for two weeks returned to the Starting Xi in the Cup final day and was paired with Chirasse in the midfield.
Kaira’s return to the Starting Xi was very important to the team as he produced a masterclass performance in the midfield, making important tackles and blocking opponets’ attacking threats.
Former Silver Strikers, Mighty Wanderers and Chitipa United star, Mathews Sibale started upfront for AD Vlankulo and was paired with the Captain of the side, Parkim while Bright Munthali came off the bench to convert his penalty in shootouts.
Speaking to the Malawi Guardian from Mozambique on Phone interviews, both Chimango Kaira and Mathews Sibale were over the moon with the trophy.
“Actually, I feel so great. I want more and I will keep on fighting to win more. Nothing beats fighting,” said Kaira.

Mathews Sibale who scored four goals in three games said, “Am very happy to win the trophy. It’s my second since I joined the Club at the beginning of the season. I thank God and I will keep on fighting.
“I need to score more goals and help my team winning games.”
Effort to speak to Bright Bweke Munthali turned futile as he was not picking up the call.
Assoçiaçao Deportivo De Vlanculo started the journey in the tournament with a whooping 7-1 victory over N. Alliança on May, 28,in a game that Mathews Sibale bagged four goals.
They went on to play a barren draw against Temusa on June 4 and they won on penalties before facing Ferroviario Inhambane in the finals.
In League, the Vlankulo based team have played three games and they have registered a single win, losing two.
They started the League with a home match against Costol De Sol and they lost by a goal to nill.
Thereafter, Chimango Kaira’s Vlankulo faced John Banda’s UD Songo and Kaira suffered a 4-0 humiliation before recording a 1-0 win at home against Ferroviario De Beira.
However, AD Vlankulo won the Preseason trophy in April this year after defeating Temusa Costol De Sol.
Following the Saturday’s win, Chimango Kaira have won at least a single trophy per year in the past 5 years as he won Carlsburg Cup in 2017, winning TNM Super League three times in row with Nyasa Big Bullets before released at the end of last season. He also won Airtel Top 8 Cup last season with Bullets.
Both Chimango Kaira and Mathews Sibale are the regular starters for the Vlanculo based giants while Bright is yet to feature in league as the process of registering him is still in progress.
