Rainbow Paints increases BDNL sponsorship

Rainbow paints has on Saturday announced that it has tramped the sponsorship package for the Blantyre and Districts Netball League with K5 million taking it to K12 million from K7 Million for the 2022 season.

The hike will see the Champions walking away with K2 Million while runners up will get K1 Million. Third place and team to finish fourth will pocket K600, 000 and K400, 000 respectively.

Rainbow paints representative Wezzie Chirwa, said the decision to hike the sponsorship was spurred by prevailing economic situation.

“We recognise the impact that our sponsorship has on Netball on the land, hence the decision.

“We have assessed the financial situation and we have decided to increase the sponsorship to mark 10 years of our sponsorship in style,” said Chirwa.

Taking his turn, General Secretary for the Blantyre and Districts Netball League, Annie Hanjahanja commended Rainbow paints’ gesture.

“We are happy that despite prevailing economic situation, they have decided to increase the sponsorship. We will continue to use the funds prudently.
