Call it “FISD International Volleyball Tournament”
The committee that organizes the International Volleyball tournament has announced the change of the event name from Mzuzu International Volleyball tournament to FISD International Volleyball Tournament.
According to one of the organisers Killy Msukwa, this has been done to honor sponsors for the support they have been rendering towards the sport in the country.
“As an organising committee for the International Tournament we want to appreciate FISD and other companies for continued sponsored. In honor and respect for the good package which we all anticipate we have decided to change the name of Tournament from Mzuzu International Volleyball Tournament to FISD international Volleyball Tournament.
“From now onwards the event will be branded in FISD name since they have shown Commitment to support Volleyball in Malawi. Being a Malawian-based firm and fully owned by Malawians whom we are proud of them. There are many foreign based companies that we know make billions of but they cannot even spend a little to give back to Malawians through Corporate Social Responsibility. With that we wish FISD Limited Company great success in the future both on local & international market” he said.
He added that their main Sponsor is yet to come up with the Sponsorship package after presenting a Budget which they were asked.
The tournament, which is scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 August 2022, will attract some teams from Malawi’s neibouring countries.
They are Mbeya Best 6 from Tanzania, Nkhwazi and Unza from Zambia and Naba from Zimbabwe.
FISD is yet to comment and ask for time.
