MCC, Police joint patrol ended premature
Drama in Mzuzu as the Joint patrols by the Mzuzu City Council and the Police ended prematurely on Monday afternoon.
This has happened that teargas cannisters exploded inside the van which the enforcers were using.
The incident took place at the market near the rank where people from Geisha boarding their taxis.
The patrols are aimed at relocating illegal vendors from the streets to designated places like the Matabwa free market.
Most vendors are shunning the multi million kwacha Matabwa free market claiming that, they don’t make good business at the facility because it is far from their customers.
The operation that started some five years ago yield nothing as vendors insist to remain at the place that is located along M1 Mzuzu Karonga road.
