Lambat responds a call from Machinjiri residents
Lambat Transporters, one of the major companies that uses the road from Area 5 police to Njuli turnoff that connects to Zomba road, has responded to the call by residents who are mobilising resources to help in rehabilitation of the road by contributing two 20 tonnes of quarry stone towards the project.
It follows an appeal by the residents to the big companies to do something as the road benefit them immensely.
After learning from what people from Madzumbi, Chiwamba, Nzoola, Ndembo and Nakaona are doing in the area of Traditional Authority Kasumbu in Dedza by rehabilitating a 12 kilometre road using their manpower, the community in Machinjiri decided to mobilise resources from each household with a monthly fee of K15,000 to households with vehicles and K6000 without vehicles to help bring to shape the roads which are badly damaged within their community.
According to them, it is a commercial road by all means and is the best road to connect to Zomba road not only to Machinjiri residents but also other residents surrounding Machinjiri like Lunzu, Chileka, and Chirimba among others.
The community is geared to do everything with their meagre resources to ensure their problems are mitigated.
