Malawi hip hop icon raid to rest

As the country is today mourning the death of rapper Martin ‘Martse,’ Nkhata, fans and government officials are demanding a thorough explanation on the circumstances that led to his death.

Martse died on Monday noon after sustaining severe burns from a fire that gutted a house, he was in, in Mangochi.

Speaking during his memorial service, a family representative Uchizi Nkhata explained that Martse who successfully fled from the fire with others who were in the house, later went back into the house amid the inferno and closed himself in.

However, in their Eulogies the Ministers of Tourism Michael Usi and Minister of Youth Richard Chimwendo Banda have both said they are not satisfied with the explanation from the family on the fire incident.
