One arrested for sodomy

Police at Jenda is keeping in custody Vitumbiko Chirwa for the charge of sodomy contrary to section 153 (a) of the penal code.

The suspect committed the offence on May, 16, 2022 , around 16:00 hours along Mbawa river bank at Mtezi Mithi Village in Mzimba District.

It is reported that two boys aged 10 and 12 were grazing goats along the said river. Later the suspect found them while eating sugar canes, and suspected them of stealing from his father’s garden.

Chirwa, undressed the two and sodomized them one after the other. The victims informed their parents who reported the matter to Embangweni Police Unit.

The two were referred to Embangweni Mission Hospital where medical results proved positive as mild bruises and sand were detected in their anal areas proving penetration.

The suspect is in police custody pending court proceedings.

Vitumbiko Chirwa 18, comes from Zongonono Village, T/A Mzukuzuku in Mzimba District.
