Moyale, Hammers in Mzuzu derby
Moyale Barracks and Ekwendeni Hammers on Sunday will faceoff for Mzuzu City supremacy in a must-win TNM Super League encounter for the Lions of Kaning’ina at Mzuzu Stadium.
Both teams are coming from loses in their respective last encounters and will be looking to bounce back and collect maximum points.
Moyale are sitting just above the relegation zone Moyale on position 13 with 6 points from 8 games, while the Hammers have three points more on position 9 having played a game less than Moyale.
Speaking on Friday coach for Moyale Barracks FC Prichard Mwansa said his side is aiming for nothing less than a victory.
“We are set as usual, and we want to make sure that we win the game, we trained well and we were looking on mistakes that were doing in past games and now everything is just well,” said Mwansa, whose side is coming from 2-1 home defeat to Nyasa Big Bullets, their sixth league loss this season.
His Ekwendeni Hammers counterpart Etson Kadenge Mwafulirwa, said his side is better placed to emerge winners in the derby.
“I have told my boys to put more effort and win the game, this is Mzuzu derby so every team will need to win the game, all in all let us wait and see,” he said.
