MCC are conducting assessment by floods affected households

Authorities in Mzuzu are conducting an assessment to establish the extent of the damage caused by floods that have affected households across the city.

For the past couple of days most parts of the northern region have been receiving heavy rains which have caused flooding in some areas.

According to Mzuzu City Disaster Desk Officer Precious Mandala, over 70 households are estimated to have been affected in Mchenga Utuwa East and Masasa.

He added the city council’s team is continuing with a rapid disaster assessment exercise in other locations which may be concluded later today.
